Does anyone have any decent training routes out here that dont involve the w&od trail?
I would like to find a place to ride out here after work to avoid some hours on the trainer. I work right off 28 and sterling blvd

Check out some of my training rides below. They all involve the W&OD for at least a bit, but are not focused on the path.

- Reston/Great Falls/Wolf Trap loop (http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/2934258)

What time do you get off work? The Reston Bike Club tuesday/thursday rides are awesome, and depart at 6pm. Tuesday night meets at the Hunter Woods shopping center in Reston; Thursday leaves from the caboose in Herndon, right off the W&OD.

I get off at 6 so i would have to insect those rides somewhere but i have no idea where they go. Im looking mainly for places I could do solo intervals and stuff. It looks like that ashburn loop is the most convenient but i bet the great falls area is better.

The Ashburn ride has one loop that's got some great climbing in it. Waxpool Road has a great climb, followed by an awesome descent, followed by another decent climb. If you look at my MotionBased you can see the loop we do. It's awesome.

it looks like that ride goes past my work about 20 minutes in so that could work out really well. I will have to try the thursday ride one of these days then.
