Road Bike Racing - Canadian National Cycling Championships

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am writing this post as I watch the National Cycling Championships from my office here in downtown Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. It is rather quiet and not too exciting as today is for time trials. However, it is exciting to see each rider fly down the Niagara escarpment preceeded by his/her own police escort. However Saturday and Sunday should be much more exciting.

We have perfect weather today--about 23 C, partly cloudy--a far cry from the past two days of 35-36 C.

This will be a great test to make sure the city is ready for the World Cycling Championship in October.

It's expensive just for airfare, tickets to the race are even more spendy.

Fly to Buffalo, not Toronto. Hamilton is almost equidistant from Toronto and Buffalo. And don't forget, our dollar is still cheap!

What are hotel room prices there? Spendy or somewhat reasonable? Anyone else thinking about going?
