Introductions - Back to Biking and smiling

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I started riding in the early 80s after running destroyed my feet. My first bike was a Trek and then a pre shoxs trek Mtn bike. I put fat slicks on the mtn bike to ride when the roads were wet in the winter. After the garage bent my Trek I purchased a DeRosa frame that I road for over 10 years. I injured my elbow and had to stop riding about 5 or 6 years ago. Now I am back, just purchased a Specialized TriCross Com Triple that will allow me to ride on the road and on fire roads in the area. I will also use it to ride to work. It feels great to be back.

Hello Bob S, are you riding both road and mountain, then? Glad to hear that the injuries have not dampened your resolve to get out there and have fun.
What fire roads are you riding? Don't forget to check out the Northern California regional forum.
Welcome to BF!

Welcome back to riding. I'm currently on hiatus after surgery (not cycling related) and itching to get back on the bike.
I am fortuante that I live near Mt Tam, also known as the home of Mtn biking. There are a lot of fire roads level or dificult make your choice. As I usually ride around 6.30 in the mornings I do not have to deal with the excess of Mnt bikers who swarm the mtn especially on the weekend. I used to ride a mtn bide, a hard tail Trek before shocks, I stopped when to many others caught on to the sport

You are in a great spot, for sure! So it's MTB only, then?
