Ok do you mean just rim or fully built wheel. For 120$ JUST for a rim you can get some of the best on the market.
Generally the best value, high quality rims are sun ryno lites.
If you don't plan on doing any major drops and are less than 175 lbs the Sun CR18 is also a good choise.

price point has 2, count them 2 517's on sale for 80 bucks
If you're looking just for hoops, not talking about disc brakes and are talking about riding XC, then you cannot go wrong with the MAVIC 517. If you're talking discs, then you're looking at 317D's.
If you are looking for built-up wheels, then you should look at the multitude of options out there, built with 517's, and then you have to consider what the wheels are built up with. However, I don't think you'll find 517's in a wheelset for $120.

Can't see enough about the Rhyno Lites. I've run one on the rear since my factory wheel bit it and it has been great. Not the lightest thing on the market, but it's taken some major abuse. If you are only looking for one, be prepared to spend close to 80-100 to get a nicely-built shop wheel with high quality spokes that are properly tensioned.

I second the suggestions for sun rhino lites. Also, I just got a sun singletrack on the front with xt disc hub all for $80. Heavy, but very durable.

Second X221's - they cope with my substantial weight
There is a seller on eBay blowing out enitre wheelsets, with WTB greaseguard hubs and brass nipples, for $125 or so, SHIPPED. Do a seach with "new wtb" and you'll hit them.
THAT, my friend, is your best current deal going for cheap, good, XC wheels.

the rim is too small i have a 26 inch rim.....thanx though
Another vote for the Rhyno Lites,
Call any professional wheelbuilder that laces up MTB wheels and ask him or her (?) what hoops s/he recommends. While you're at it, ask which spokes they prefer, too.
Can't go wrong with Sun rims. I'm a little guy so I use the 0 degree XC, but the Rhyno Lites are a better bet for some folks that are harder on their wheels.
