Utility Cycling - My 3 Year old gets it.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I mentioned in another thread that I had got my daughter her first bike. We've been riding together to the store nearly everyday for the past week or so. The term "riding together" used loosely, she rides while I straddle the top tube and walk beside her. When we left today her friends yelled something to the effect of "they're going on a bikeride together!" and she replied "no, we're going to the store." We ride bikes to get places.

You're daughter is rad. Be proud: you're raising her to be smarter than conventional wisdom, so she won't have to sturuggle past it later in life like many of us.

Maybe there is hope for humanity after all
That's so sweet. Amazing that a 3 year old can pick up on the linguistic distinction between "going for a bike ride" and "going to the store (on our bikes)" Smart kid you ot there!
