Does anyone have a source for keirin helmets? I've found japanese sites that sell them (Takizawa and others) but they are unwilling/unable to communicate. Recieved an electronic mail from one that said Arai refuses to import them because of honor/tradition/safety issues which is silly as Arai makes some of the safest motorcycle helmets EVER. No I'm not some NJS tard these are just some of the safest non-road helmets out there. Maybe Tomity could help? Sam

Arai cycling helmets aren't CPSC approved so they can't send them to the US. They simply haven't had the interest in them here in the States so they haven't paid the not-insignificant amount to get the feds to bless them. Your only hope is to find one in the Pacific Rim. You can buy them in Malaysia and Singapore, but I haven't seen them in the PRC nor of course in the US.

Arai or DIC make the helmets used by keirin racers in Japan. The stayers racers in the UK also use the fiberglas Arai helmets. You might be able to find someone over there that stocks them.

But like 11.4 said, they aren't CPSC approved, so good luck using one of them on any track in North America.
