Orange00,
Or you are a very good artist in Adobe Photoshop and any 3D software, or you are one of the very rare owners of GoBikes around here.
It is a very interesting design, since it combines the quality of a 20"wheeled bike with a compact fold of a Brompton. How do you like your bike so far?
That's purty!
Where does someone go ' bout purchasing them GoBike's? :)

An owner of the the vapourware bike made out of purest unobtainium! Congrats!
Beautiful Bike. How's it working out for you?
S
Go-bikes seem to be very rare.
And you seem to have very short legs. :D
I knew it! Only gnomes can get the purest unobtainium!! It all makes sense now.

RE: ALL
The first few photo I took when I got it first day. That's why it look so rare.
I'm only 5'6, so normal asian height. Haha
I'm from a little city in China, Hong Kong.
So far I like it very much. I fall in love with it in first sight.
The performance also not bad. Moreless same dimension as MTB when it un-fold.
9 speed, front and rear suspension. And I really feel comfort when I ride.

I'm about an inch more, so it would probably fit me too :-)

Can you tell us the dealer (web page maybe?) & approximate cost please?
The GoBike site now seems to be up and running, with GoBikes being shipped (wonders will never cease...) and http://www.ingear.be/gobike/en/indexgb.asp is running special offers on them. But at the best part of £1000 a pop, is it really worth it - you can get a City Birdy for that with almost as radical looks and well proven engineering.

Can you really say the fold is that compact?
Gobike: 15"x26"x30" 12.9kg
Birdy: 14"x23"x31" 10.4 kg
Mu SL: 14"x25"32" 8.7 kg
I guess it is the only 20" folder with an unhinged frame.

I bought it locally. It's around 1.1K USD as there's some special offer.
Maybe you can plan your next vacation to Hong Kong.:D

Mine is model SP9. only 11.3kg.

My understanding was that this bike would fit inside international luggage without any disasembly. If that's not the case, the chances of me buying one just went from 0.01% to 0%.

The Birdy has no hinge, I'll post a review in a moment.

Yeah, but I thought the Birdy used 18" wheels.

I'm afraid that this is the original offer that I took up when I bought the 2 GoBikes from Seppe @ InGear, The page has not changed since!
Seppe appears to be directing people to another Belgian dealer, A-Bikes (http://www.a-bikes.be/html/a-bikes_vouwfietsen.html) spoke to Seppe recently and he said he had become a bit disallusioned with all GoBike's promises. And was now concentrating on other products.
The web-site now says that the latest batch have modified cable runs & different mountings for the long awaited accessories (but they can be adapted to fit our older GoBikes apparently)
I have e-mailed the German distributor to find if bikes & accessories are available in Europe, just heard from a guy called Mehyar in North America who has just received his GoBike that he ordered direct from Canada.
The GoBikeOnline (http://www.gobikeonline.com/) link is back up & running and stuff is finally being added to it. Will keep you all posted.

I notice that it doesn't seem to be the latest model, your pics show that the cables are routed the old way (like mine) the newest GoBike have cables that route under the bottom bracket to avoid tangling.

Made by BEV in Taiwan

Much more at http://www.timac.com.tw/DB/gobike.pdf - fully priced up catalogue. If you're in Taiwan, you can pick one up for less than £500. I wonder how much it would cost to mail order, including taxes/duty? (though you'd also want to spend nearly the same again on neat accessories)

Better yet, find a girlfriend in Taiwan.
Where is Rafael?

I heard he is busy finishing a Master Thesis and riding a Brompton for now, so no girlfriend in Taiwan. Graduation date is August 15th though...I will let him know...

Ok, so I just tried emailing the company. Here's what I filled in on their contact form:
Subject: Availability of GoBike in the USA?
Message: Ok, so many, many folding bicycle enthusiasts have been watching the development of the GoBike product for several years now. Although the bike appears very interesting, and has multiple awards advertised on the website, your bike has remained depressingly elusive in retail channels or even via a web store.
Recent rumblings from Taipei bike show suggest that the availability may be about to change, but.... what's the skinny? I live in NJ near New York City. What would I have to do to get my grubby hands on a Gobike, and what would it cost me?
Enquiring minds want to know!

GoBike's response:
Dear (bookishboy),
Good to hear someone from the Garden State is concerned about GoBike... As you can tell from this reply we are there behind our computers and wrenches churning out some GoBikes! My name is Philip and I work for the GO Group in Quebec City, Canada. We are the developers and manufacturers of the GoBike brand of velomobility™ solutions.
I am not sure if I've started rumblings in Taipei (it's always dangerous to do so on a volcanic island) but the skinny is this: bikes are available and in stock through our North-American distributor in Montreal, Canada since last winter!
At this moment, we have no stocking dealer in US as of yet, but we are in contact with some prospect shops and hope to conclude arrangements to see them stocking GoBike in the very near future. The availability of our bikes is, at the moment, limited to direct sales through our North-American distributor. He would be happy to arrange shipping out our special introductory offer described here. It is offered at the all inclusive price of US$ 1300.00 The shipping is also included. You may contact Inter-Axion our distributor at the cc address you see above to obtain further info about the offer and discuss dealership requirements.
Shipping occurs within 24 hours after receiving your payment by Visa or Master Card A tracking number is then forwarded to you. The bikes are shipped by ground service and will arrive to your door within a maximum of 8 working days depending in which state you are living.
The GoBike is covered by a limited lifetime warranty on the frame and fork and of one year on all parts and components. We stock a comprehensive selection of replacement parts for all our models.
Furthermore, the GoBike was designed to use industry standard components and parts like tires, brakes, derailleurs and so on. Replacements for these can be obtained from any professional bike shop.
Don't hesitate to contact me if you have nay further questions.
Philip Brook
(email redacted)
The response came back within an hour or two. The combo deal mentioned is shown on their website, and included bike + suitcase.
So it looks like it's available (if a bit pricey) to folks in the US who want one, and it's available *now*.

Like a few writer said, GoBike are now selling. I am in Quebec, Canada and yes you can buy them at dealers (Canada) and from GoBike North American distributor.
I suggest you go to GoBike World website (http://www.gobikeworld.com/), surf a bit and ask them for questions. They will happily answer.
Don't forget it is not an easy job bringing a new product to market.
As for myself, i was wrenching for a Quebec bike shop and have ridden the bike and worked on it. It is a really well enginered bike. Folding is fast and compact for a 20 inch wheels bike. The ride is plush. I prefer it over the Birdy (Nice bike too but i dislike 18 inch wheels).
Now, the best part is availability!!!
