Mountain Biking - can I convert my JrT's from 5" to a 7" travel

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I have an '03 Norco Drop that has the Marzocchi Junior T2 QR20+ travel: 130mm, 5"
I want the full travel of the 7"- 8" inch version!!! [170 mm]
It really blows my mind that they would downgrade a fork with less inches.
Anyway wonder if I could drop in some new springs or turn sumthin on a lathe to fix this pig.
Ideas?
Short answer, no.
Longer answer, they are completely different forks from the current ones. They are actually forks from a few years ago.

I think it is older than that. Doesnt the JrT2 have the bolt on brake arch?

03?
I think they are rebadged New Old Stock(NOS). Nothing to be worried about tho it is still a bada$s fork.

definitely an older model. They haven't used that style arch since 00
here's the 2003 model, look at the arch

They still make 5" JrT's oem on some bikes more specifically Norcos. And the long and short answer is no. Thats why there is a large abundance of 5" JrT's available on pinkbike and ebay :)

Guys...please take a look at the bigger picture of the bike. It is an 03 OEM 5" Jr T...they have existed for 3 years on some norco bike and have the big silver arch like the older models ;)
