I raced today, it was really hot. Full field for the fours I guess 50 racers, our race was at 1am just in time for the hottest part of the day.

I was obvious from before the start that the race was going to be made the last 2k with a 200m climb. I got near the front on the climb sat about 7 wheel simply answering attacks but didnt do any attacking myself, made sure not to blow my load on the uphill, a group of about 9 of us seperated on the uphill(that wasnt a climb by any means). we slowed near the top but not enough for the field to catch us, I tried to stay sheltered from the wind the last 1k and @ 200m I had put myself in perfect position. 3rd wheel not 3 bike lengths from the leader and second place was fading hard.

I stand up to open up a bomb of a sprint but only really mutter out a sparkler after that uphill I came around second place and sit down to try and hold position, I ended up 5th, a little tick in the cat-3-ometer and just enough money to re-coop my entry fee.

I saw snuff out there throwing off some big attacks big nobody wanted a break.

Congrats, recneps. How many FSC guys were in the race? I had an engagement of sorts to get to, so I had to bail before you all lined up and therefore didn't get to talk to our guys.

two an older guy and a younger guy from chapel hill with red hair, the older guy was sitting second wheel at 150m but looked cooked.

Thanks, recneps-

The red-haired guy was Dylan, who also races collegiate for UNC; and the older guy is Adrian. He was out there in support of our 4s, trying to get them (him, since only Dylan came out) some speed coming to the finish and then drop back, so looking cooked makes sense.

Zimbo, did you win the Masters 4/5? I saw a name atop the list that I have to think was yours...

Yes, that was me (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=307670). I was fortunate enough to actually overtake someone in a sprint (which given my mediocre 10 second power doesn't happen very often).
