Anyone else have a Ciclosport computer with cadence and have a problem with it? I have the CM436 and the cadence sensor and recently the cadence stopped registering on the computer. I've tried repositioning everything but no luck. The magnet looks like it passes almost within touching of the sensor, but nothing shows up.
Anybody else have something fail like this? I'm trying to decide if I should remove the cadence beastie and send it off somewhere for warranty...

Try twiddling the sensor with a powerful magnet by hand, and see if you start to get readings. If so, try moving your wheel magnet up or down the spoke about 1cm. Sometimes the best position is offset, not direct line-up.

Hmm. No joy that way. It almost seems like a broken wire, and yet I measured the resistance between the contacts on the connector at the end of the cable from the sensor to the computer, and there was almost none, so it doesn't seem like a wire is busted.

Most of the models I've seen use reed switches, so the connection should toggle between open and closed under the influence of the magnet. I don't know if it's the case with the Ciclomasters or not, however.

Yeah, that's what I thought they did. Pretty weird that the connection is always closed then. Hmmm...
