Hi All, Anybody able to share information regarding good road ride options from the Londonderry or Weston area in Vermont? We'll be spending the weekend at Bromley View Inn and want to do some 30-40 mile loops. We're Flatlanders from Central Jersey;) - used to Hunterdon Hills, so aren't looking for major climbs, although I'm sure some are inevitable. Can anyone help?
We'll be there June 14 thru june 17.

The Long Island Bicycle Club has a bunch of rides in the Londonderry area listed on their website:

I've done a fair amount of riding in that area. There's nothing flat, but the scenery is unbeatable. The worst / hardest climb I've found in the area is on Vermont Rt. 100 going over Terrible Mountain. It's just south of the town of Ludlow (Okemo ski area); it's a couple miles of 9, 10, 11% grades. Other then that, you'll run into endless rolling hills and a couple longer climbs, but Terrible Mountain is the worst I've found in that area.

Goddamn flatlanders... :p
We tolerate flatlanders just fine here, unless you buy a huge amount of land and put up a giant monstrosity of a house with a long driveway. Then we string you up/yell at you at town meeting. ;)

Stick 'em in the Old North End for a few days, and if they survive, they can stay. :p

Join the club... :(
At least Montpelier is still the only state capital without a McDonalds.
For now...

I do like Montpelier. Was planning on moving there until I met this girl... who became my wife... who was moving to Burlington...
I'm in the New North End, so I ride through the Old North End a few times a week. Fun on a Friday night with my lights, blinkies, and vest on!

Thanks KevinF. We ended up leaving from the Bromley View Inn heading down 30 up 100 and found our way onto Windham Hill Road. A beautiful road with some challenging climbs. Decided not to drive down to start from Magic Mountain. I can recommend the Bromley View Inn for future events for your club, though!
And to you roadmonkey and bmike - I share your disdain for Walmart and McDonalds and applaud your distaste for long driveways and McMansions!
