Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I go to school up at Michigan tech, but I have found myself working at a co-op for the next 8 months, so I am down here in Livonia for the time being. I have been doing a decent of solo riding (about 150-200 miles a week) however, its pretty much just on Hines drive or 7 mile west of northville. Been kinda boring, but whatever. I am now looking for some pretty fast paced group rides with riders that I will struggle to hang with for a bit and will have no problem dropping me. I really haven't found any roadie groups around here, as most are out of ann arbor (too far away for me)

Anyone here have any good suggestions on group rides, or even just some good roads, as I am board out of my mind on the same old roads.

Lived in MI many years ago.
These clubs are probably still around:
Wolverines, Cycling Saddlemen, Slow Spokes of Macomb, Clinton River Riders, Okaland Riders

I had the same problem after graduating from Mich Tech and living in first Midland then Sterling Heights areas. Luckily, my wife convinced me to move to Portland, OR, and besides the early season rain, this place is crazy cycling bliss. Good luck I hope you find cycling buds and better routes, I never rode in that area, so I'm not much help... sorry.

Check out the routes on Routeslip.com. You should be able to find some new routes there:

The Ann Arbor Bicycle Touring Society (http://www.aabts.org/) has some nice routes out of Plymouth almost every day of the week. Some of the riders are pretty quick. Check the calendar link and then look for the Rides out of Plymouth page. Lots of good roads around you.
