My fixed gear bike says WESTPOINT on the chain guard and on the front of the frame. I have no idea who manufactured it, when or why. I wondered if it had been built for retail by Western Auto.

Anyone got any ideas?

If not, that's cool too.

Point West = go west young man, go west. Must be a really old bike. Did it belong to Lewis and Clarke? I bet it has a leather saddle. Sorry, no one else offered a more intelligent possibility.

I noticed that under the seat it was carved "B. Cassidy. I had fun while Sundance slept in."

(a little movie referrence there since I couldn't think of anything halfway humorous about Horace Greeley. Best I could do Wildwood)

If you post some pictures of the bike then we might be able to tell a little more about it.
