Anybody else following it? I'm just starting to get into it and it's working so far. I have found very little in the way of reviews about it and I'm very new to dieting.

I love the ABs diet! The smoothies make breakfast for me alot easier as well as healthy. No more fast food for breakfast. I feel alot better throughout the rest of the day. So far I have lost 8 pounds and I have only been doing it for two weeks. I have not included weight traing yet do to lack of time. I intend to start with weights this week. You really can not taste the Whey protein powder in the smoothies.
Try it I think you will actually enjoy the food and you will feel better!
On the website it claims to turn fat into muscle. The equivalent of turning water into wine, sand into gold.
Hogwash!
I've bought the book, and read it. I think it is more credible than a lot of other books out there. I like the exercises and recipes. But, I find the book titled: One Body, One Life: 6 weeks to the new you, the best book I have read. The best thing about that book is the exercise plan they give (along with lots of other recipes, and lots if information about nutrition and health...but not as in depth as the Abs.) The exercise plan includes martial arts, yoga, core training, strength training, and cardio, 5 days a week, which usually takes about 45-60 minutes. Best book I have read.

It is just like any other good weight loss book.
Eat Right (six small meals a day)
Exercise (cardio and weights)
Rest
And you will lose weight....

The way I understand it is, they say for every pound of muscle you add on you burn 50 extra calories, so if you add 6 pound of muscle you burn 300 calories = 1 pound of fat.

I remember reading that. I recall Danno saying something like at most (safely) 1-2 pounds of muscle is the MAX amount of muscle tissue one can add on in a month. I thought a pound of fat has 3500ish calories though. It may take a while to add on purely 6 pounds of muscle. Hm.

Your right a pound of fat has 3000 calories according to the book and the book say's, you could burn a pound of fat every ten days if you stick to it.

Sounds about right. But one has to be pretty commited to a book plan for desired results to happen. I just use the book as a guideline, but I did like the weight exercises in there. Bad thing is I can't find where I put the book:(

I have been commited to eating right and working out everyday the last 3 months and I have lost 26 pounds as of today. The Abs Diet has really helped and it's a nice guidline to follow the workout's and recipes make it easy. The book I have been using the most from it is the "Eat Right Every Time Guide" it really makes eating right choices easy.
i need to get that book i have a freind on it and it works.
It's been 12 days since I've given up dairy, and I've already dropped from 222 to 217. :)
hi,
The abs diet is okay, works for some people, however I am not of advocate of it, neither am I of any diet. Simply because: Diets don't work. Don't think that once you diet and lose that 20-30 pounds you're going to keep it off, unlikely unless you are willing to change your lifestyle. For a diet to work, you must diet forever. If you are in your 20s, you don't need any protein shakes or crazy dieting, all you need is a decent meal in the morning, afternoon, and evening, just 3 meals a day. I am quite good at losing weight, the best way to do it is just to stop eating as much. There is alot of hype around Whey protein and creatine and various other stuffs that make you gain more muscle fibre without having to take in alot of carbs or fat, but that's just hype. I've used whey for a couple of years, and I've used it properly (1 hr after workout, sometimes before depending on exercise program), and it's a huge waste of money. If you are looking to trim up, become more muscular, and improve your cardiovascular system, i suggest doing the following:
Eat breakfast!!!!!!!!
my favorite is oatmeal, you really can't go wrong, add some fruits if you want
Limit lunch to non greasy foods, maybe a light salad, a small meat serving
At work i just eat a sandwich that has something from each food group (haha) and some rice with vegetables
Dinner - i really recommend a soup to start, some sort of carb dish (potatoes, rice, pasta etc.) you'll need the energy, and a meat serving with vegetables
If you are really keen on losing weight, don't eat any sugar, put none in your coffee, or tea, don't eat ice cream or chocolates (as hard as that may be haha), and the biggest thing you can do, don't SNACK, as soon as i've stopped snacking in between meals i lost quite a bit of weight.
right now it's summer, i do some form of exercise everyday, so I eat everything (even fast food), during the winter you really do have to be more conservative. But seriously, the key to losing weight, is what people have been saying for ages, eat healthy by limiting what and how much you eat, and exercise daily, you don't need to follow any special diets or take any special protein shakes...challenge your body, change your body.
ciao

One of the first few things the author mentions is what you said about the term diet and lifestyle change by the way.

That IS the bottom line. ThanX for cutting through it all.
