Mel rolls deep. He's gonna rule with this MadMax. There will be drunken post-apocalyptic drifters getting pulled over and blaming it on the chosen race. Action, adventure, wacky hijinks.

Ok. So maybe tomorrow I'm signing up for a room. Anyone out there want to go in with me? To give an image of how the old guys roll, picture a luxurious suite stocked with chilled champagne, medium rare steaks (or a tofurkey, if that's your style) and a clutch of dancing girls. But lights out at 10:30, I needs me my sleep. Just kidding.

well, I barely know anyone on this team so I'll room with whoever. as long as we can have dancing dudes, not just dancing girls.

Oh Hai! I can has hotel room?

I booked a room at the Georgian for Nocoins, his "partner" and myself. It is now the official party spot of the MS150. All the best and brightest celebrities will be at our after party. Don't miss out, book your rooms now! If you blow this opportunity, how will you live with yourself?

PS I hear Billy Bob Thorton AND Screech from Saved by the Bell will be there.

hey everyone, just remember, after tomorrow, the price to register goes UP UP UP!!!

The team is looking good so far... and by that I mean no ugly people have signed up. bahahahaha

Thank you to Luke for getting me and my ladyfriend a room with him. You guys need to start booking rooms. PM Luke for the number of the Georgian (its not a bad place, although in some rooms you have to share a bathroom with the room next door) if you go in as groups the room will be fairly cheap. These hotels fill up REALLY fast. Check the site for camping info as well if that is your thing (it is usually my thing, but after being on a bike for 84 miles I like to be able to shower and sleep in a real bed).

At the end of the ride there will be a lot to park our bikes. For the past few years I have just sent my heavy chain and ulocks down with my luggage and parked my bike in the lot overnight. The hotel does not allow bikes in the room and the "bike parking lot" for the MS Bike-A-thon is locked up and WELL gaurded. Aside from that, no one will probably even want our bikes when we are parked next to $7,000 road bikes that have only seen one weekends worth of riding a year. Either way, I still like to lock together for EXTRA safety since I am from Jersey and I dont trust anyone ever. hahaha

please let me know if you have any questions on anything. Here are the answers to the questions so far...

Dane - no, santa claus does NOT exist, but his sister does.
Max - yes, that is a rash and very likely infected, I suggest you get it looked at right away
Peter - Please wear bike shorts this year, I cant be expected to give you butt massages at the end of EVERY ride.

Keep spreading the word and let me know if anyone wants to ride a tallbike for the event this year. We may be able to get some press and donations if we do that.

oh yeah.... does anyone have a problem with sponsorship this year?

Last year I spoke to my friend at Tattooed Moms bar on south street. They were going to throw us a few hundred for the ride, but everything just kinda fell through.

I think it would be cool if anyone knew a bar or some sort of food place to sponsor us with beer, food, money... we can probably put their name on our shirt in exchange. Money donated towards MS would probably be the BEST trade off, but if a bar just wanted to give us a few cases so we can get together for a drink after or before the ride, that would be nice as well. Let me know if you guys have any connections.

you DO realize that insulting someone from north jersey means you will get stabbed in the face with a soldering iron and possibly kicked in the neck. but, all of the things you mentioned are accurate. At least you know that you will have no problem finding the bathroom in our room at night, just use the natural radioactive glow of my skin to light your way.

That's why we're bffs. Soldering iron? You brought it all full circle with a nerd/engineering reference wrapped in a threat of bodily injury enclosed in an enigma inside a bacon wrapping. You know me so well.

As to finding the bathroom, I plan on getting blind drunk and peeing on you kids in the dead of night, like my buddy Corey did once. I'll tell you the story sometime, it kills.

this story gives me the fear.

I will make sure Guin stays on that side of the bed... I will be protected by a plastic sheet "Gallagher Show" style. Can we make that wrapping Veggie Bacon. HOORAY!!!

I just moved to Jersey yesterday...the collingswood circle still trips me out.

here is how I will show the jersey jerk in me....

South Jersey doesnt really count as Jersey... its all farmland and they have a weird accent (even by jersey standards). South Jersey may as well slide away and land somewhere in Tennessee.

Why did you move there? I used to have friends in Collingswood. We decided that all of the children in Collingswood had REALLY large heads because of something in the water.

south jersey... man... yikes. I spent 7 years there, I dont think I would ever move back.

I moved here because I got a really good deal on my place, with my two best friends. I work in Vorhees so it works well. I'm still 5 minutes from the city.

It definitley isn't the farm area part of S. Jersey...I'm kinda liking it. Just not too thrilled about living on the border of Camden without a river!

Hey there water heads:

Have there been any discussions about a Team Schmeam tshirt? You crazy kids with your fauxedos last year were hi-larious. I'm no arteest, but I think it would be fun to bat around some wacky design ideas. I started thinking about this last night. I saw a Harley rider with a tshirt that said this little gem on the back:
"If you can read this, the ***** fell off." My concept for our tshirts would be whatever is the polar opposite of that bonehead sentiment. Maybe:
"If you can read this, our public school system works good." Hahahahahahaha, ohhhhhhh so funny. Not really.

PS Are all the philly related threads (except the scary fishing wire one) COMPLETELY dead on bf since phillyfixed.com has come about? Pretty amazing.

I was discussing the tshirt with some people the other night.

the Tuxedo Tshirts were GREAT last year, but the guy we ordered from "The Tuxedo Man" was horrible. Also, there was SO much printing on the front of the shirt that it really made you sweat more than necessary.

We were batting around a few ideas for this year.

Bikini Tshirts (Guy and Girl) the ones with the abs or the boobs... you can choose which ever one you want.

Plain Team Schmeam Logo

I'm With Team Schmeam => (or just "Im with Stupid" with an arrow pointing to the side)

... I am waiting to hear some more ideas. So, start tossing them out there, lets get a design going.

we can have them all pointing to the right... so when we pass everyone and shout "on your left" we can actually say "On your left, STUPID!"

Or, just "I'm With Team Stupid"

Somebody should draw captain schmeam punching whatever ms looks like in the face, and be all "sup now, stupid."

ps, anyone who wants to share a room with a stranger from philly, holler back. i don't kill or anything, i swear.

Do you guys really plan on wearing tshirts on a 75 mile ride? Or do you plan on wearing them after the ride or something?

we wear them during the ride. If people want to wear jerseys that is fine... but there is really no need for it. The ride happens at the end of september so it is typically good riding weather, and the ride is SO easy that you dont really need to be "geared up" in any way.

Last year the Tuxedo Tshirts were kind of a bad idea just because of the overwhelming amount of printed ink on the front. No air could really travel through the shirt, that certainly sucked. BUT, it still looked cool, and we all know that is what is important. hahaha

If we go with the kitten shirt this year, with something printed on the back of it, I would like to find one with minimal ink on the front, also, maybe a more lightweight shirt instead of a HEAVY cotton shirt.

I would love to start getting some emails with shirt designs nocoins3 at yahoo dot com

Hey Everyone on Team Schmeam,

I sent out a mass email last night asking for some info from all of you. I also sent a link to the Tshirts and asking for size/color info.

Please check your spam box just in case it went to that folder... also, if you are signed up for the team and you didnt get my email, you may be one of the 7-8 people whos email was bounced back. I used the email address that you provided to the MS Site... I know a few people have contacted me with BETTER emails to use and I am updating my records. Keep up the good work everyone... we just reached 1% of our ONE MILLION DOLLAR GOAL* and we have about 30 people on the team.

Anyway, please respond asap so I can order these shirts in time.

THANKS A MINT!

* I set the fundraising goal to 1 million because I didnt know how many people would sign up and I thought it would be funny, but I will change it now...

What's the actual date for this? If I can find a cheap ticket, I'll so come up for the ride. I couldn't do the one in FL this year because we had our alleycat that some of you jerks came down for.

Besides, Philly is fun as *****.

ok,

I am going to try and order the shirts by the end of this week. SO, if you are on Team Schmeam and you didnt contact me with your shirt size and color, you aint gettin' a shirt... unless of course you Email me right away.

I sent out an email to the entire team, but a lot of the email addresses came back as invalid. SO, please, if you know someone who is on the team, but they have not ordered the team issue Kitten Tshirt, let me know ASAP.

email me at nocoins3 at yahoo dot com

I will be sending out an email to all the shirt people with my paypal info (once ashley helps me with it) so you can send me shirt payment.

I am also going to try another wave of emails tonight to see if I can reach the unreachable.

Hey Team Schmeam,

The shirts came in last week and they look GREAT. They should be screen printed with the Team Schmeam logo this week.

Anyway, the final price is $12. I sent out an email to the team to pay me, but I have not heard back from a LOT of you (check your spam box). You can either email me to arrange a pick up, or you can paypal me the money at nocoins3 at yahoo dot com.

I would like it if most people were able to pick up the shirts BEFORE the ride so I don't have to carry 30 shirts the morning of the ride.

contact me please.

Kevin, I hope that in the future you can come up with classier posts than these. I'm really disappointed that you and your team members choose to make a fund raising event to battle a disease, a battle against something so meaningless as another team. You are 30 years old and, especially considering your profession, I would have expected you to be a more respectful person.

And as an aside to me having a flat on the side of the road- I don't understand why you laughed at my misfortune. If you feel that bitter then maybe you should stop texting me.

Please cease to rip at my team in the future and please put your energy toward the actual cause of the event.

How disappointing.
