Hi everyone,

Been a member for about a year but this happens to be my first post. Anyways, I'm looking for some route advice in Northern NJ/Bergen County.

I currently reside in Bergenfield, NJ and I commute to my workplace in Hoboken and back. Does anyone know of a safe route from the GWB over to Hoboken that doesn't involve River Road? River Road seems pretty congested with all the soccer moms in their Hummers. :-)

Due to the precarious nature of River Road, my current route instead has me crossing the GWB over to the Manhattan side. I then take the West Side bike path all the way down to Christopher St where I hop on the PATH train to come back into New Jersey at Hoboken.

Does anyone know of a more direct but safe route that doesn't involve riding into Manhattan and back?

Thanks in advance.

I've never biked Bergen Co south of Fort Lee, and I seldom drive that part of the County so my knowledge of the roads and neighborhoods is iffy.
But it looks like Palisades Ave mostly goes thru. Or a combination of Andersen Ave and Bergenline if it's not too busy.

Take Anderson Ave in Fort Lee, but instead of heading down Gorge Road, continue on Anderson down to Woodcliff Ave (big park just past the intersection). Head onto the road in the park (Kennedy). This will continue on the cliff of the palisades. If you stay on Anderson, it will become Bergenline, but I think there is alot more traffic.
