I am looking to purchase a new wheelset for my road bike and would like some input. I am riding a specialized bike with shimano ultegra 10 speed. I am a larger rider (230 lbs) I am currently riding on alx 330 wheels. My rear wheel has developed a small crack after hitting something on the road. The alx have a small spoke count and I was wondering about moving up to a larger spoke count for added strength. I know that weight is important but I was wondering if, for someone my size, it would be better to go for the added strength. I was thinking of a set of Mavic CXP with ultegra hubs. Any thoughts or better suggestions???

You can't really go wrong with the CXPs or Open Pros with Ultegra hubs; the OPs will be a little lighter but both should be bullet proof. Depending on your budget, you could also have a pretty decent set of wheels built that will be strong enough. I had a set built for around $400 shipped to my door and they weigh less than 1500g.
