Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - I am 200 pounds even. New to the forum. Saying hi!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I guess that I would be considered a clydesdale. I am new to road biking, but not to bikes. I have ridden bmx for about 8 years and still do. I am 5'8 200 lbs. This is the heaviest I have ever been. I am 20 years old. I was wondering how long you guys think it will take me to get back to my normal weight of 175-180. My final goal being aronud 160, 150. I am very interested in road biking and have done a fair amount lately on my felt. I am doing all my research and just trying to learn. Also, Hi to everyone on the forum. I am hoping to learn a lot from everyone! Thanks. My name is patrick and I am from Jersey. YAY!:)

Hello and welcome to the gang. I don't know how long it will take you to drop you weight, but riding is a good step. It is great that you are focused on doing something about the weight gain before it gets to out of hand;like it has for some of us. The guys and gals here have been great help.

I'd say your more like a Suffolk, the smallest of the draft horse breed.

Welcome!
You could shed those extra 20 lbs pretty easily with a little tweak to your diet and refular exercise.
Don't be a stranger around here when you lose your clyde status ;-)
