Well, the last 2 months has only seen me on the bike about twice. The craziness of preparing for a cross-country move (1st month) and then the settling in to the new place across the country (2nd month) have only let me ride about twice.

Actually, there has been little stopping me the last 2 or 3 weeks other than mental barriers. This is very hilly country which I'm not used to. One part of me is anxious to test myself on some hills, but another side of me is nervous that riding will be like starting over again.

I did manage one ride out here so far....it was very short, but the last 1.5 miles were all up hill. I'm proud of myself for making it all the way. However, I do feel like I'm lost some muscle mass in my legs. I work relatively close to where I live....so I do plan to start commuting. I'm still scoping out my route, but I'm hoping to be riding to work by next week.

Wish me luck, all!! :)

Cool man! I have a feeling you don't need the luck, you seem to make your own.

Started well....came home early enough to get on the bike this afternoon. Rode down (the hill) to the library by my house (only about 1/2 mile, but steep hill). They didn't have the local bike trail map that I wanted, but told me I could get it at a full service branch. So I rode about 6 or 7 miles (lots of hills) to a full service branch and then back home again.

Not too far in distance, but lots of hills.....LOTS of HILLS.
