What?!?

If you're talking cornering then... don't pedal in a corner. If you're riding in a straight line then that's the freakiest thing I've heard of. How smooth is your spin?

That is odd that your wheel is skipping on a straightaway. The one thing I can think that it could be is that you're ridding with your tires at too high of a pressure. What pressure are you riding them at? What's the max. pressure?

If it was a steep hill, maybe your weight was too far forward. Try scooting your read end backwards.

I've had the rear end of the bike literally hop off the ground at a cadence of 180rpm (guess I'll never be a track racer :p) and that's what I suspect Pinky means.

Either coast, smooth your spin, or get a higher gear on your bike, those are the solutions I can think of :)

It happened when I was going straight down a hill. From reading the responses I'm thinking its a combination of sloppy spinning, the lack of high gear on my bike (its a 7-speed Novarro Randonee :( ) and not putting enough weight over my rear wheel when I move into an aero position. Looks like its more justification for more riding and practicing :)
