Trip from Mpls to Red Wing

I'm wondering if anyone has biked from Minneapolis to Red Wing.

I'd like to do it this weekend, but I'm having a lil trouble maping out my route, road bike style.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Once you're in Prescott just keep going down Wis Hwy 35 all the way to Red Wing. Fun and scenic ride.

Your profile mentions Uptown. Greenway to the St. Paul side River Road all the way around along Shepard would be a good way to pick up this route. Fair warning, this route is NOT flat.

If you want a flatter route I'd recommend biking to Cannon Falls and then take the Cannon Valley Trail all the way in. I've never found the direct route via Hastings very fun or pleasant and have not biked that way in a number of years.

I'll second the Cannon Valley trail recommendation. I went on a birthday ride with another
cyclist and a large group of inline skaters a couple years ago and it was great.

Not far from the trailhead there was some kind of ice cream / restaurant thing too which
made the red wing side a bit nicer as well.
