I'm doing my first triathlon in about a week. I'm concerned about how my bike is going to fit in the bike rack. I've only watched one triathlon and I can't remember exactly what the racks looked like. But I think I remember people hooking their bike's handle bars or brake levers over the top of the rack to keep it in place.

I've got a hybrid (trek 7.2fx) and I'm worried that the flat handle bars won't provide a way to hook over the rack. Is this usually a problem? Solutions?

A lot of people with hybrids and mountain bikes will just hook the nose of their saddle over the rack. Just be careful when pulling your bike out not to knock other people's bikes down :-) Gluck with your first tri!

Thanks. I just didn't want to get to the race and not know how to do it. Only 1 week to go.

If you can do it by the saddle try 'backing' the bike into the parking spot, so you can just push it down and take off in the right direction to begin with.
