Recumbent - wireless computer fo LWB bent?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Has anyone put a wireless computer on a LWB bent? I just put a Serfas on mine, but it won't work unless I put it in my had and hold it down towards the senders. Once in the holder it won't work.
Is the sender too far from the receiver on a LWB? Anyone use a wireless? Thanks
Generally, it's too far from the wheel to the handlebars on a LWB. Anyone try them on the derailleur tube? That's what I have my wired Cateye hung from.
i put a VDO C2DS wireless cyclecomputer on the back wheel of our screamer for my stoker, i checked to see if works from the captains bars and it picks up fine. according to the tandem forum the range on this computer is 5 meters.

I have a Cateye wireless on my Stratus LE. It has to be mounted within 27" of the sender. I put it about 25" up on the stem. I can see it between my legs while riding. I used one of those mounts that tri-athletes use to mount things on their aerobars.
