Both tires have about 2000 miles on them. Have gotten a few flats on the rears so they are due to be replaced but the fronts don't look as worn. Should I replace it anyway?

No need to replace it unless you see some visible damage, like cuts or such. The front tire will last 2 or more times longer than the rear.

Many people here would advocate putting the new tire in the front and rotating the old tire to the back. This is because front tire blowouts are more dangerous than rear ones.

Rotate front to rear, buy new tire for front.

Personally I prefer to change both at the same time.

Any reason for this? My front tires usually last 3 times as long as my back tires.

Change both if you want, but it costs more. I've done so so far since I've always been itching to try some other tire. Now that I think I've found the one I want to stick with, I plan to start rotating front tires to the rear and placing new tires on the front, for the reasons already stated.

If the front's not worn out, the only reason to replace both tires is that you want to try a different kind of tire, so you tell yourself they're both shot. :D

Just my preference. I like to keep the pairs the same age. Im not one to let my tires go. I change them before I need too. I find that they flat more as tires get older and thinner. Its not like we are talking about big bucks, perhaps a set of tires each year.
