"The 33"-Road Bike Racing - Anyone used the Competitive cyclists web site to fit yourself for a frame?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I used the measuring methods given here, but man - they got me on frame waaaay smaller than I'm currently on.

BTW, they suggest 3 mthods of riding style which put you in more aggressive positions. Obviously the more aggressive the smaller the frame.

Anyone used this web site before?

Just about everyone here knows about the site.

What are your dimensions, and what do you ride now?

My previous bike was a 60cm, and the Competitive and Eddy fits put me on a 57cm Pinarello. Not only does it fit, but my position is more aero and the handling is quicker.

Be careful with the arm length measurement--it's easy to screw it up and miss to the low side.

Yeah, I was trying to get the measurements so that 'the people' on the site could see how height (which is easy to get right) compared to other measurements.

55.5 cm top tube is on the high side for 5' 7.75", assuming a 10-11 cm stem. I would think you'd need an 8 cm stem, which would be a little on the low side.

It's good for overall frame size, but screws up on other things.
It recommends 4.5cm of setback for me, but I actually fit 9cm.

9 cm? Wow.

6'4", long legs.

Fit calculators don't work very well for the short or tall outliers.
