Classic & Vintage - What color is my Schwinn?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

No, I'm not colorblind. I have an '87 Super Sport with some nicks and scrapes. I want to buy some touchup paint (probably from http://hyper-formance.com/paints.htm) but I don't know Schwinn's official name for red that year. I think the two tone '86 model is Scarlet Red and black. I have also heard the terms Cardinal and Flamboyant Red thrown around. Thanks for reading.
Here's a pic of the bike.

I think I found it. Interestingly enough a Google search found a thread on this forum that says: Schwinn called this color "magenta". That same year (1987) Schwinn also offered bikes in "teal", "mauve", "scarlet", "mint", and "imperial rose". I am reminded of something I read about English bikes from around 1900: "Black is the only color that is suitable for a gentleman's machine".
A search on the forums themselves didn't find it. YMMV.
black bikes go faster at night

Red bikes go faster overall though.
I can't see your photos at the moment, I'll try again in the morning :) .

It's not Flamboyant Red. Flamboyant Red is a like a Candy Apple or Transparent Red over a silver base.
Magenta looks like this so it's not that.
That leaves Scarlet and Cardinal. You can't go wrong if you order one of each. :)
The closest I have is an '86 Schwinn catalog and it calls it Scarlet.

Looks like scarlet to me, now that I can see the photos.

Thanks all. I agree. Scarlet is her color.
