Although an avid bike rider when younger a few months ago I was walking while my daughter rode her bike and I realized that I was going to have to get a bike if I was to keep up. I went out and got an upright. Immediately started training. I had forgotten how much I loved it. I started a training program, bought a trainer (it was Feb in Denver) and got serious. In April I fell down my stairs, spraining my hip and giving myself a hernia (3rd in 13 mths). Now I am healing from my surgery. My Dr didn't want me getting back on my bike yet, for fear of falling. Due to my Dr and ridiculous gas prices, I decided to invest in a recumbent trike. I got it Thursday and haven't been off it until the rain came. I love it. It's awesome, I pedal and pedal but there is no worry about balancing and therefore falling. It's the best. I am not retiring my upright bike yet, but this is so comfy, it's going to be hard to go back - but I can't until I get my Dr's okay anyway. Until then - I'll stay 'bent.
