Electronics, Lighting, & Gadgets - Inexpensive setup for cadence + hrm?

I've been looking at cycle computers. I don't care if they're wired or not. I haven't found many that have both HRM and cadence. I found a Polar one but it's wireless and too pricey for me (when you buy all the extras to make it work.) Cateye doesn't have one that does both, and a FAQ on their site says that they would interfere with each other.

I don't care if I have to get two devices as long as the total price is not too bad. I've read about the cadence trick where you use a speedometer with the sensor mounted on the crank and set the wheel size so the computer actually displays cadence / 10. That would work if I could find a cheap speedometer, and then use another computer with HRM. Or, a dedicated HRM (handlebar mounted display, I don't like wrist) and a cycle computer with cadence.

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure what you consider cheap, but the least expensive I've found is the Blackburn Delphi 5.0 (and 6.0 if you also want altimeter). The 5.0 is $80 at Nashbar.

I own the 4.0 and have discovered one caveat. The wheel pickup is very, very sensitive to magnet location. Other than that, I like mine a lot.

This might work - The Cateye Astrale (wired, rear wheel speed sensor + cadence) is one of the least expensive bike computers with cadence and works really well. Add an inexpensive HRM; use the Polar handlebar mount or make up something with zip-ties and old inner tube pieces.

Just bought a Delphi 6.0. Wasn't originally interested in the altimeter, but what the heck, I found a good deal. Hmm, it's coming from a state away. I wonder if it will get here Saturday. :)
