Road Bike Racing - Upcoming Races in New England?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi all,
I am going to be on vacation in Springfield VT between the 16th and 26th of June or so. I was wondering if there are any New England cyclists on this forum who know about any races in the area (within a couple hours of VT) during that time that I should check out. It would be awesome to try out racing in a different area of the country since I've only raced down south so far...

Yeah, I'm doing Munson. I may drive the course on Fri if I can squeeze it in. I hear the climbs are nasty.

I biked the entire race route on Sunday. The first section will split the field. At the end of the first loop when you turn onto Wales road at the start of the second loop will separate everyone else. After the second loop the right turn onto wales road for the UPHILL finish will be a blessing and a curse.
Nothing to do but to put your wheel on the line and go for it!:D

If you're racing this in the 4s you'll have the privilege of going up against a living legend (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=136161&highlight=i+have+to+drop+you).
He's on the confirmed rider list. (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=136161)

You two HAVE TO do that race. That is put on by the club I'm a member of, (NCC), and I will be both a volunteer working before the race and riding the race with the club.
If you commit I'll pay your entrance fees! :)

the only real issue i can foresee is that's the same weekend that's usually reserved for my father's bday celebrations (which is usually why i go back).
anyway, that's exactly the kind of race i used to di to get into shape for killington. these days i drink beer and live in the flatlands, which might make it more interesting. ;)

I'm on vacation for two weeks and won't be around. I'm sorry to miss it (a little!). Munson and a few more crits for me. New Britain again. I'm thinking of trying the Tues night series crits in Hartford for a few weeks. Cross is coming up fast!

As it is written in the cyclist training bible:
"you are to give over to the Bike the first offspring of every womb. All the firstborn males of your livestock belong to the Bike."
Then again, what plague have we unleashed upon the earth!

At least silly pictures...
Quentin,
You should try to extend your stay a little bit, and do Fitchburg. It's from the 28th of June through the 1st of July. There are 142!!!! people registered for the 4s (capped at 150)...so you might want to try to upgrade before then and contend with the comparatively small 79 man field in the 3s.
