so while Edmonton isn't the bike-ey-est city in the world- it turns out that we have a really sweet velodrome. I droped by yesterday and watched a club do some slack races and i think i'm going to drop by tomorrow, rent a bike ($5!!!) and do some laps before i join a club.

anything i should try? I think that riding alone on a track might be a little bit lame, but i'm excited anyways- if only to ride a real track bike and to go high in the berms. I'd really like to try to do some drafting but i might be the only person out there...

Get real high and then drop down right as your coming out of a turn and sprint a 200m. I also find kilo's fun to do solo. Enjoy yourself!

update! (how exciting?)
it was really great. The people at the track were really friendly and i got to ride one of those weird lookin' KHS's with the funny seat tube. I was the only person at the track so i was able to just kinda bomb around until my legs gave out.

that is all.

+1.

If you're doing them right "kilo" & "fun" should never be in the same sentence.
