My fiancee and I will be out there. If you're out there, too. We'll keep an eye out for you. We've both done the King of the Mountains century series and the past two Eastern Sierra Doubles, but this should be more difficult, given the steepness of the grades, the backloading of climbing for the day, and that damn cutoff time. If you've done it, we'd love any insight.

Hi Josh,
I won't be there, but my friend Tom Parkes will! He's always been dnf'd by the cut-off times, but this year he's hoping to finish! He's ridden almost 100 doubles, but Terrible Two has always beaten him.
This could be the year he does it!

We should compile a list of the most horrible sounding rides ... like Terrible Two, Breathless Agony, Death Ride!

I'll be out there - first double of the year after lots of racing. In blue - either a Swami's or a UCSD kit. Just hoping my knee cooperates, it's been giving me some issues lately.
Mentally prepare yourself for some pain! It is in a completely different league from the Eastern Sierra Double... And it looks like it's going to be hot. Don't overdo it on the early climbs - you need as much in reserve as possible. Check out the climb profiles on the triple crown site (you probably have already). Pretty much all the climbs are double summited - so just take them as they come and enjoy yourself. All of this course is top notch riding.

I predict if the knee is o.k., you're gonna smoke 'em.

That's for sure.
When I pulled into the Port Hueneme rest stop at mile 170 last year during the Grand Tour he had just pulled in and had already done 270 miles of his triple.
