Well- I leave tomorrow morning for the mile-high city-- I am going to do Ride the Rockies and am heading out a few days early to acclimate... this living at sea level (sort of) and going to COlorado to ride requires a little bit of that. The ride starts Sunday--and it's 7 days of riding. I am taking the fixie...
After reading a couple of the posts on coasting, it made me think that going downhill fast on paved roads is one of the true thrills of cycling. Unfortunately, I will have to limit my speeds to about 35 mph because that is the maximum speed my legs can handle on the fixie-- one gear, no coasting... I will miss the 'screaming downhills', as the ride director calls them :)
I will post on how it went-- If I have access to a computer, maybe I will post during the week--but otherwise it will be upon my return.
