After a crash yesterday I bent a tooth on one my Shimano XT jockey wheels. I believe I can replace it. However, are jockey wheels specifc to the brand and line of derailleur? Or are they standard size so that I can ask my LBS if they have any extras laying around?
Thanks,
Brass

If you ask your LBS to get you what they need, they should know enough to get you the right thing. Shimano derailleur pulleys are specific as to whether they are guide or jockey pulleys. Any competent LBS will give you the right thing as you as you tell them the correct pulley.

Just fair warning: you're going to be shocked when you find out what Shimano charges for a new set of pulleys. $50 for XTR and about $32 for XT.
The existing pulley might be easily fixed or, if you're lucky, someone at the shop may have swapped in alloy pulleys and have some used pulleys for you.
If you don't know the deal with "genuine" shimano pulleys, here it is: the upper pulley is on a bushing that allows lateral movement of the pulley. This reduces/eliminates chain clatter due to slight misalignements common after use or when the bike is under load from strong pedaling.

They are also specific to eight and nine speed, ten v/s eleven teeth.
