Wednesday nights throughout the summer, there is a concert series in one of our local outdoor malls. It's a mostly low key affair; a band, sometimes electric or acoustic, horns, etc. held in a food court with a movie theatre at one end. While it's a 10 mile ride directly from my house, I will take a longer route and turn it into a 16 mile cruise. My wife, daughter and in-laws, who walk over from their place nearby, usually get there first and have dinner waiting for me.

Tonight, first concert of the year, and I take off in the summer heat. When I roll up, all sweaty, I get to the table just in time to see a guy handing out skewers with fresh fruit on them to the family. I take two or three! Thanks! Then a few minutes later, another one of the eateries starts passing out brochetta. Yummm! Shortly afterwards, chocolate covered strawberries...then ribs.....smoothies......

Clearly, the local places wanted to make sure we would all try their restaurants! It was great! Love that free food! I'm really looking forward to next week's ride!

Oh yeah, it's a great middle of the week blow-off. This is our 5th year doing this together. Nice to get to just hang out as a family.

Ding! You win the prize!

We can meet up for the last part of my ride if you want. I head out from Agoura via Kanan, Westlake to Los Arboles and then right turn up Erbes. Follow that to Madera and left. Backtrack to Moorpark and a left and then straight shot nice long cruise back to the Mall.

The concerts run from 6-8. Have your family come early and grab a table ( and hope for some good treats!!)

I would probably do something much more casual and spontaneous. But I am glad you made me aware of it, it does sound like it would be interesting.
