My right knee has been pretty much trash since I ripped a ligament playing football 25 years ago. It's normally ok if I don't get too carried away and do something too strenuous with it. Well I stopped Friday night about 11:30pm to get a fat burger and when I was leaving I stepped in a big friggin hole in the parking lot pavement. :( Twisted my ankle and tweaked the he|| out of my right knee. I fell down but I saved the Dr Pepper!! :p Now my freakin' knee feels like it's gonna pop out of the socket every time I walk on it. Also some pain directly behind my kneecap at times and also some fluid on it. It's been like this before and it gets better after a week or two. Guess I should stay off my bike for a while? Riding usually makes it feel better but I'm thinking this time I should maybe give it a rest for a while. Anyone have any opinions on it? SHould I ride if it doesn't hurt(too bad)? Or just give it a rest? Could I be doing more damage(like there could be much more :p ) if I keep riding?

Sue the burger joint - it's the American way.

Seriously, I wouldn't push it. If it doesn't feel better in a week, check with your doctor. Good luck!

Go get checked by a doctor. I wouldn't get on a bike until I had it checked.

Yeah see a doctor but I'm sure ice and rest- maybe immobilization of the joint with a brace or something. Cycling is good for recovery but initial rest sounds right. Tell the doctor about your cycling plans to work it into rehabilitation. Good luck!
