Introductions - Cheers everyone!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just joined tonight! I'm a grad student in Chicago. Born and raised in Boston and Cincinnati, I am utterly forlorn for hills, daunted by these prairie winds. I have a Cannondale I ride wherever possible, including across this massive, surprisingly bike-friendly city to school. Hope to start touring more seriously than I have done before -- if I can somehow rearrange the rest of my life to make the time for it. Glad to be here with you all. / JMG

Another hill lover! Wind is not nearly as much fun as hills...a lot of members here who work, live, and play in Chicago, so don't forget to check into the Great Lakes regional forum.
Welcome to BF!

Hey JMG - that's the rub for sure! Finding the time to ride is an issue for most of us. However, we all seem to find a way! :D

Welcome to BF. Wind + hills equals good workout. There are plenty of hills north and west of you.:)
Maybe you would be interested in the TOMRV ride sometime.

I would be glad to learn of good hill country within striking range. Share your knowledge!
As for the acronym, I'm afraid you have the advantage. Spell it out and perhaps I will be intrigued. . ./JMG
