I just picked up my new commuter. It's a Specialized Allez, the same one that sebring picked up a few weeks ago:

I'll post the "official" picture and my first ride report after my ride home tonight and my ride in the morning. I'm hoping it'll be a significant improvement over commuting on my mountain bike. Plus, I won't have to switch out my tires for actually mountain biking anymore:)

Congrats man. I just picked up an Allez Sport and I love it.

Speaking of tires, you might want to consider switching to a more rugged, puncture-resistant road tire. I put on a set of Specialized Armadillos today and they are great. Check this thread:

Here are the tires (http://www.specialized.com/SBCEqProduct.jsp?section=13038&browselevel=tires&JServSessionIdroot=y5uplnme37.j27004).

First week of riding and I put about 110 miles (2 flats) on the bike. So far so good. I find it easier to relax my hands and shoulders than on my MTB. I think this helps because my lower back hasn't been sore when climbing.

I also went on my first "group" ride this morning. About 6 of us, trying our best to get a pace line going:)

Pudge:

I'm still debating the amadillos. I'm going to try the Spec. Turbos that came on the bike until I get sick of changing flats. It may not take long;)

So far I've been to lazy to take a picture!

I suspect two more flats will convince you. ;)

110 miles, eh? I take it you like the Allez?
