View Full Version : Ride Interest = Valley of fire - Lake Mead + wakeboarding and waterskiing

Would any of you be interested in an action packed weekend in Las Vegas that would include bike riding through the Valley of Fire in the morning and wakeboarding/waterskiing in the afternoon. You could camp out along the shores of Lake Mead and watch the stars come out at night. If you don't know how to wakeboard or waterski we could teach you. It would be great fun for the entire family. We have all the water toys you would need. Jetskiing - tubing - extra life jackets (even kid sizes), you name it. We have extra tents if you don't own one. We have plenty of UV screen houses and chairs :D Hope you all can come. The dates in July are flexible. Any suggestions?
There will be sag support available.
And for those of you who feel camping isnt an option :) I live only 40 minutes from the lake and you are welcome at my home. I don't want this trip to cost you guys anything.

That sounds like a blast, plus I've always wanted to go riding in that area. I know how to waterski and wakeboard. The rides should be very early in the morning, though. It gets in the 110s and 120s in the Summer there! By 7am I want to jump in the lake just to cool off from sweating while sleeping!!!

Yeah we usually start riding early. It's gonna be really hot one today. I'm leaving work early to take my dogs down to Boulder Beach for a little fun in the sun. Any date suggestions urbanknight?

The weekend of the 21st looks like an open weekend on the forum. I don't want to overlap with any of the rides.......especially since I plan on attending them. The slackers ride for sure :)

It sounds like tons of fun (well all but the camping part :D ), but July just isn't going to work for me. :(
But...this combo--bike riding, water sports and Vegas...surely can be done several times a year. ;) :) I'll be in for the next one!

As for a date, I can't even promise that I can go because I have a ball and chain now. She's not too thrilled with my obsession with bicycling, but she does like camping, so if she wants to go, I'm in. Aside from the imax get together, I'm free until the first weekend in August when we go on our 1st anniversary vacation. We need to plan that.

The wife wants to know how is the hiking in the area? I know Red Rocks looks nice, but I think other areas around there are open for hunting, are they not?
