Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

What I mean is while you are cycling or in a store, has anyone ever given you free water, food, things like that?

bfb2003 and I were cycling around the river in Perth when we saw a local radio station's vehicle. We stopped to chat and got a free icecream each.

I got thrown over the handlebars, and it felt like an elephant stepped on me. I had to lay in the street like a dog, until I could breathe again. It didn't cost anything.

Stopped for lunch to eat some scroggin and a guy came up and offered me some booze, by his smell, stance and general demeanour he didn't really need any more of it, so what the hell

We were waiting to start a Parade that our Mtb Club was in, It was a St Patricks Day parade and the bus Behind us was getting an early Start on the Party. So they offered to fill our 70 Oz. Camelbacks with the Smirnoff Ice Stuff. We gladly accepted since it was only a 2 mile parade at a very slow pace, so we too started our celebration a little early. ....

Drunk bikers in a parade :P
Clueless pedestrians deciding to have a pow-wow with their friends right in the middle of the well-labeled bike lane on the boardwalk! Remind them nicely to be careful of where they stand, lest they get hurt by a cyclist, and they sometimes offer you FREE advice in return...but it isn't always so nice!
But seriously, as an Auxiliary Police officer who enjoys bike patrol on the boardwalk, the contact I get with the visitors and residents is always quite positive. One patrol on the boardwalk can give me more positive contact and feedback than a winter's worth of patrols in a police car. Their support is FREE but well appreciated.
Funny, on a patrol on Independence Day I spotted an older man ahead of us that dropped his bike rather quickly. I thought he lost his balance. He quickly went for something in his pocket and I figured that his cell phone rang. Much to my surprise and delight, his response was to grab a camera out of his pocket to take a snapshot of my partner and myself on our police bikes. Later on, we passed him again and he grabbed another shot.

I was able to spend four "lovely" days in the UC Davis Medical Center as a result of my cycling last autumn. . . I don't think I'd care to repeat that performance. On the other hand, the staff was wonderful and the rest did me good.

Go to a race, they are constantly giving away "Free" stuff!
I've gotten several waterbottles, some Gu (expired), a couple of T-shirts, some key-chains, stickers...etc.
My wife won a floor pump!
Other than that, I get free encouragement!
I also get the "freedom" to go where my legs will take me!
