Hello. I will be in Burbank next week on business and would like to get in some riding while in town.

I should be free to ride on Tuesday (6/19) and Wednesday (6/20) evenings from ~5:30 PM on. If anyone knows of any rides that I could hook up with, please let me know. I heard about the "Rose Bowl" ride, but I would prefer something with some good climbing if available. I've been given a few ideas for exploring on my own, but it's my first trip to the area so I'm going to be pretty clueless. I thought if there were some rides going on that I could hook up with, that would be a lot easier.

Thanks!

Hi there!

Tuesday and/or Wednesday nights there will be a ride or two in Pasadena, usually with a decent amount of climbing. Last night we did Chantry Flats, 21 miles, 2200 feet climbing (half occurs in 3.5 miles). Do you have good lights?

Here's the thread for the Pasadena Rides: http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=304275

Thanks! I'll be on a rental/loaner bike, but I have a good light (Lights & Motion ARC) that I can pack and bring. Should I just check the forum for ride details?

Yes. I will be riding probably both Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Chances are Tuesday will be around Pasadena, some climbing, probably 1 to 1.5 hours long, and Wednesday will probably be another climb to Chantry flats. I'll post in the Pasadena Night Ride thread probably Monday once I'm able to get a better idea what the plans are.

Tracy, I'll be riding one or both nights as well and would love to have you join. There is some traffic, but nothing too bad (a blinkie and good headlight works well and it gets quieter as the evening gets later) and I think if you like to climb, you will really enjoy the climb up Chantry.

MARKAJ and I will be riding next wednesday nite. Departing from Burbank at around 6:30 pm. We'll most likely either be doing a Montrose loop or a La Tuna Cyn./ Descanso Gardens loop. Both routes should be about 30 miles or so with some climbing in the mix. PM me if you wanna join us.

THANKS to everyone for helping me get in some riding while in Burbank. When I found out I was going, I figured I would have to settle for a couple of nights on the stationary bike at the hotel. Instead, I got in a couple of incredible rides! Thanks again for taking me on such a great route. I'll ask my boss for another trip and hopefully we'll have "La Tuna - The Rematch" soon. :) Best regards...Tracy

PS If anyone is ever near Atlanta, let me know and I'll try to repay the favor.
