Sorry for your loss. Watch out for the grammar police, they may get you for this one. My cable lock feels heavy, but I keep it on the bike now. It is reassuring to have when going in and out of shops. Good luck finding your bike.

I keep my lock handy whenever I expect to leave my bike for more than two seconds.

I bought a $40 On-Guard wire thingie, and so far i haven't used it. Phew.
