so i'm thinkin' of making this IRO group buy frame coming my way completely bauhaus inspired. yeah pretty dumb, but what else you gonna do? so here what im thinking so far:

black IRO frame
white deep Vs to dura ace hubs (for some reason that black center of the hubs looks sooo minimal)
sella italia white slr
campy record pista stem and headset (both have black inserts to match the hubs)
all cranks these days look equally simple so sugi or campy or shimano or whatever
black stem (thomson?)
black straight bars or riser or soma noah's arc
white oury grips or black oury lock on grips

anyway im trying to find the most simple FUNCTIONAL bike. things like holes in hubs seem less simple, bars without grips aren't too practical IMO.

am i an idiot? any suggestions?

Well yeah, especially if he's going riding in the Hollow Hills. I wouldn't want to be accused of being the Sanity Assassin for not suggesting a light.

I apologize, we've gotten away from the Spirit of the thread, it must have gotten on the Nerves of the original poster. Smalltalk Stinks. I think astrx should use a Mask to put some subtle graphics on the frame

I have a feeling that would leave your hands looking like a Rosegarden Funeral of Sores

well he might as well make the Dive and do it. it could draw Crowds. or maybe just a Rosegarden Funeral of Sores.

Rosegarden Funeral of Sores.
Did that one. It, like Bela Lugosi's Dead. Try to give your next one a Slice of Life

If you truly want a Bauhaus-inspired bike, buy one of these (http://imagesource.allposters.com/images/pic/VAS/0000-6071-4~Adler-Bicycle-Posters.jpg). Marcel Breuer himself based the design for the Wassily chair on his bicycle.

Bauhaus was all about innovation and function, function is naturally there with fixies. So why not add some new innovation into there too.

I think we need more bikes built to the theme of art/design movements.

Impressionist fixed gear? A Constructivist track bike? Minimalist cruiser? The opportunities are endless!

I'd think flat bars would fit your theme more, with minimal sweep.

regardless of the inspiration, black on white can look great if done well. maybe a bit of polished aluminum too...
