Picked up an older? 50cm Trek 5200 OCLV today with the following components: Full Shimano 600, except for Dura-Ace STI brifters and a 9-speed freewheel, Aurora rims with 'lavender' Michelin Pro Race tires, Eclypse stem, and Synergy wheel levers, SPD pedals. Dark gray frame color, Bontrager saddle. Bike is in very good condition & rideable, no cracks in frame, everything works. Is it likely a '92? I could not find any info (no suprise) at vintage trek, but understand that '92 was the first year for 5200 OCLV--15 years old may be 'vintage' enough at this site! Don't know how much of the bike is non-stock, although I have a feeling that the the Dura-Ace brifters & 9-speed freewheel are not stock. Picked it up at the thrift store for $10...did I do well? :) Does it have any value? Any further info on bike would be appreciated!

I just sold a 92-ish 5000 for $400. Yes you did well, haha!

Chuckk: Thanks for the info! I checked the Vintage Trek site again, and my 5200 is a '96 model (nude carbon 'paint' w/ purple decals)--not 'vintage' like yours! Just surprised that they were still doing a 600 component package on them that late. Looks like a winner, I'll probably keep it as it is updated with the 9 speed & Dura-Ace brifters--thanks again!
