Hello,
i'm new to the forum, but i'm curious if anyone knows a good route from Allentown, PA to Cockeysville, MD(Baltimore Area). Preferably one in which I don't run a 100% chance of getting killed. I know i saw one online a while back, but i can't seem to find it even after googling/forum searching for a couple of hours.

Thanks for the help
kyle

now that i think about it too, bike routes/loops near both towns would be great too if anyone has some. I found some but i'm looking for more.
Thank you again,
Kyle

You should probably buy maps, but I did a search on bikely.com and found these

1 This goes through hunt valley up to york I think it's on the NCRR trail too, so at least for that part you won't get hit by a car

2 This goes from york to lancaster

There's this route too

But from around lancaster to allentown, i have no idea.

I don't think it will be too hard to find a route.

You'll probably want to cross the Susquehanna in Maryland at Conowingo Damn (route 1) or further North in PA at 372. Once you get to the PA-MD border, its pretty easy. Maybe check with club rider websites in the Allentown/Emmaus area for cues to MD?

In the absence of specific advice, I'd stick with 2-lane blacktop in farm areas and stay away from interchanges and strip malls.

thanks everyone. i'm giving as many of these as i can a shot. i'll let you know how it goes. unfortunatelly due to a friends plans changing the MD trip will have to wait. but i did check with some local shops and they said it is definitely doable, but they were pretty busy so i didn't want to bug them too much.
thanks again.

Check this:

One of my favorites - routes put out there by local folks, all around the world. You should be able to piece together a decent route from searching individual towns along the way.

Could be a beautiful ride!
