All i drink is water and sparkling water. Bubbles for some variety.

Last time I was out on a long ride (scouting out a new ride I'm leading for the club) - I seemed to have drank all the water - and since I was wayyyyyy out in the sticks - there was no corner stores or even a gas station. Hardly any houses either - just lotttss of fields. And then finally ... a house.

So I pull into the driveway and this elderly gentleman who was weeding his flowers jumped up looking quite startled. So I told him I've been out riding a while and ran out of water, could he spare some.

Sure he says - and hands me the hose.


MmMmm I forgot how good warm hose water tastes.

Hose water rocks!

hehehe.... I was on a ride last year and that sorta happened to me. I finally came to a liquor store and went in and asked them if I could get some water. The woman looked at me sorta strange then pointed toward the bathroom. I got some water from the sink and went on my way. Went to get a drink later and then decided .......I REALLY didn't want to drink the water that came out of that nasty @ss bathroom. No telling what kinda people had been in there. I poured it out.

Got caught in the woods like that as well - and between the three of us - somehow one person lost his spare, the other ruined it and I only had one cage on the bike and didn't expect to be out that long ...

And then there was this stream. Hmmmm - could we, should we? Looks clean enough .... but we didn't.

Last week in a hiking forum I read where a man was out - and ran out of water - and drank from a stream - and got severely ill. His wife called for a S&R - and they sent out a couple of sheriffs and dogs - and found him - and then airlifted him out via helicopter. And he received a bill for ..... <drum roll> ...$7,900.

Needless to say - no impure thoughts of taking a nice cool sip outta those streams for me!

Otherwise I'll have my water sans gas.

I thought this was a hot tub question until I read the other responses, so since its about drinking water then we need to make a distinction about natural gas (effervescence) versus the CO2 the fizzy water factories pump into the water. I prefer effervescent water.
