Is it possible to run a standard mtb lever for a front V-brake on the right side of the flats of some chopped and flopped bullhorns?

I realize I'll probably have to have some extra slack to get it looped around, right?

FYI: the lever is already on the bar and I really don't want to have to rewrap and install the lever again. :D

are you using a v-brake?

the pull is different so you will lack power if you use an unadjusted v-brake lever with a caliper.

Yes, I'm using a v-brake on a ss mountain bike frame and fork. Are you saying I'll lack power because of the cable routing or something else?

Its called moto style because that is how it is on a dirtbike or anyother motorcycle, its not very uncommon in moutiain bikeracing, for example, Julian Absalon, who has won the gold medal in mountian biking at the olymipcs the last 3 times runs his setup moto-style

I do exactly what you are talking about and have not run in to any issues. I can lift the back wheel with ease with **** Forte V-Brakes

no v-brakes require a different amount of cable pulled to move the pads the same distance.

Plenty of people run their brakes backwards you'll be fine.

MTB bar diameters(where the grips and levers go) is different than road bars so you might run into so issues with getting the lever to fit. I can't remember if road bars are bigger or smaller than MTB bars

lol, I'm well aware now. :D It took quite a bit of effort to get that sucker on, and I have no desire to remove it now.

I guess I was just concerned with how the cable willl bend to meet the caliper, but thanks for letting me know it will work.

Thanks again!
