I was walking in my neighborhood today and saw this family. When I asked to take a photo the man told me that they are car free and decided to try this Chinese pedicab. He said he found it on E-bay for only $300.00. It has no gears. When I spotted him he was out of the saddle going up hill. The lever on the downtube operates the rear brake which is kinda like an old drum brake. The pasengers are suspened. It looks smaller than the comercial pedicabs you see at tourist areas so it might be more appropriate for personal use. If you have family members who are so feeble that they can't walk or bike, or like these people just want to try a different family transportation option, here's another choice.
