I am trying to decide between these two wheels for the commuter I am building up. The CXP33s are lighter as well as a bit more aero, but also more expensive. Does anyone know the difference between them in terms of durability and/or ride quality?
I've read up on both but haven't seen a comparison between the two. Any thoughts on either rim or how the compare would be great - Thanks!

If I recall, the 33s use double eyelets while the 23s don't have any, correct? I'd go with the 33s.

i have a pair of 23s i haven't used much...i should give 'em more use. i've used cxp33s and know they're a good sturdy wheel. from all i can tell on the 23s, they're the same as the 33s...
cxp33s aren't that much more expensive if you're building the wheels yourself, so personally i'd spring for 'em since they have eyelets and deeper section. i figure buying quality parts initially rarely comes back to bite you.

^ Yeah, Harris says they don't, but look at the Mavic site. They say they do.

My CXP22's have eyelets, I don't see why the other higher end ones wouldn't. A ton of kids are out riding 22's from that ubiquitous 22/Formula wheelset. Great wheels, I'd buy CXP's again.
thought that because the cpx33's were deep V there would not be enough surface area to put eyelets in the rim.

Thanks for the responses. I ended up ordering the CXP33's. All in all it came to a bit more than I wanted to spend - but it should be a sweet setup.
are DA high flange hubs and cpx's 33 a good marriage ??

CXP 23's and 22's come in no eyelet and single eyelet versions. CXP 33's use an internal aluminum eyelet. 33's have a deeper profile than the 22's and 23's which are very similar in profile. 33's are essentially the high profile, aero option to Open Pro.

Hi
I have just laced some DA high flange track hubs to CXP33's. Used 14/15/14 gauge DT spokes (284mm calculated from an online xls) and DT alloy nipples.

You can decide whether it looks like a good marriage.
