Hey all

I have a 2000 Kona Nunu. I upgraded the stock fork(RS Jett 65mm) to a 2001 Judy with 100mm. I would now like to upgrade this fork and am looking at a 2003 Fox Vanilla RL w/ adjustable travel of 100/125mm. I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether the increase in travel would upset the geometry of the bike. I am also wondering if anyone has experience with this fork they would like to share with me. From the impression I get Fox make some good forks.

Also, I would like to get stiffer springs for my Judy which I will be putting on another bike. Does anyone know where to get RS springs? THanks all.

Did the upgrade from 65mm to 100mm not change the geometry of your bike? If you're gunna upgrade from 100mm to 125mm there will be slight change, but not like 65-100mm. You'll just get used to it after a ride or two.

Yes, it did change the geometry for the better once I got used to it (a couple of rides) I was just worried that this upgrade combined with the other would be too much. I also heard that these geometry differences are not what the manufacturer(Kona) had intended and that it is potentially dangerous to the frame. Is there any truth to this?

If the frame was designed for 65 and your jumping up to 125, the bike is gonna ride like a chopper!

IMO, it's too much of a change and beyound what the frame was designed for!

The general rule of thumb (not an exact calculation) is 10mm of travel increase will slacken the head angle by 1 degree. By changing to a 125 mm travel fork you're altering the headangle by 4 to 6 degrees! YIKES!
