...so I would be able to ride with my 10 year daughter out in the dirt and not have to take my Roubaix.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it, so long as I don't need all the MTB specific stuff to ride with you all. I'm just using regular platform peddles and I have NO MTB specific clothing. So even though I raced motocross in the 70's and 80's and had a cheap MTB also in the 80's (I hated to have to peddle instead of just twisting the throttle), I'm still a n00b.

jsut get a good 60-100oz camelbak and some good FULL finger gloves and your set. We're gonna have to do another ride at Aliso soon

I have a Camelbak and I guess I can spring for some full finger gloves.:) Of course, it has to be a weekend that I don't have my daughter.

Hey Roger,

How's it going?

Like I said in the OP, the only reason I bought it was so I would be able to ride with my daughter. She needed a new bike last year and I got her a MTB, but now we could only ride together on the road and she really loves riding in the dirt, so long as it wasn't too steep. Today however, we went over to Fairview Park and there's some BMX type trails there and she went nuts. So tomorrow we're going to try to find some more challenging trails somewhere.

Suggestions?:)

Sorry Ralph, caught your message late. Did another metric today, had to take a nap.

You guys may try Aliso Woods. There are some fairly gnarly trails there but there some nice little singletrack, one is adjacent to the fireroad on the way back from Cholla(spl) that I'm sure she would like. Be on the lookout for poison oak, seems to be everywhere this time of year.

Also, check with the 3f guy, also a member of this forum. He has outlined all the trails in the OC on his site with some great pics as well. Have fun.

I take my 10 year old over to Peter's Canyon in Orange. It's mostly flat and close you home. It is located on the corner of Jamboree and Chapman.
